Terms and conditions for our Budget Walking Holidays

  1. Where ‘You’ is used in the following terms and conditions, and in the correct context, its meaning shall be ‘the customer’ of Budget Walking, being the person booking a walking holiday with us.  Where ‘we’ or ‘us’ is used, and in the correct context, it is to mean ‘Budget Walking’.
  2. ACCOMMODATION- Budget Walking agree to purchase accommodation within the range of accommodations selected by you, in exchange for a fixed amount which will be clearly stated by quotation at the outset.  This amount will include the cost of accommodation.
  3. Variations in the availability of accommodations may on occasion require some accommodations to fall outside of the range selected.  Where this applies Budget Walking will first notify the customer of this prospect before booking.
  4. Although Budget Walking makes every effort to vet and ensure the quality and consistency of accommodation, we cannot accept any responsibility for the actual standard and delivery of accommodation booked by us.
  5. Where you agree to an accommodation outside of the range requested, you will be liable to any increased cost for that accommodation, but you will be notified in advance of any increase in anticipated costs.
  6. On occasions, it may not be possible to book all accommodations required, usually due to short notice holiday requests made for peak visitor periods of the season.  In this instance, you will be offered a full refund of monies paid to us.
  7. In the using of our service, you agree that we book your accommodations on your behalf, and that you retain full responsibility for the individual terms and conditions, written and implied, of the accommodation providers booked on your behalf, with exception to those terms of cancellation as explained in the points above, which our accommodation providers have agreed upon in favour of and in variance to their existing terms and conditions with regards to cancellations and fees upon the same.
  8. You may generally check in after 4pm when arriving at your accommodation.  You are responsible for ensuring that you reach your accommodation at a suitable time, and we cannot be held liable for any loss or expense suffered if you arrive late.  You are generally requested to vacate your room by 10am.
  9. FINANCIAL- Budget Walking will require a deposit payment of £150 per person with the outstanding balance being paid no later than 6 weeks before the commencement of your holiday.  If you make a booking within 6 weeks of departure, full payment will be required.
  10. Your quote will have full details of how to make a payment.  We are happy to accept payment by cheque, UK and international bank transfer and Card payments.  Card payments are subject to a 4% fee in order to offset bank fees to us for this service.  We feel that the fairest policy is to ask those using credit cards to cover these fees rather than increasing the price of everyone's holidays.  In addition, international bank transfer fees must be met by the customer, these vary from bank to bank.  Please note that there is NO SURCHARGE for payments by personal cheque or UK bank transfer.  We encourage you to pay by these means if you can.  A booking is only confirmed between us once we have received your deposit or full payment.
  11. Cheques payments should be made out to ‘Coast and Moors Ltd’ with guarantee card details and your address written on the back of the cheque.  You can pay by card over the phone by calling the numbers provided on our web site.
  12. CANCELLATION- In the event that you cancel your holiday in full or in part within 14 days of the beginning of your walking holiday, you will be liable for full payment and no refund will be made.  If cancelling 15-28 days, a refund of 25% of the total cost of your holiday will be made.  If cancelling giving more than 29 days’ notice you will forfeit your deposit only.
  13. TRAVEL INSURANCE - Budget Walking strongly advise you to protect yourself and your belongings by taking out adequate Travel Insurance that will cover non-returnable costs should you have to cancel your trip due to unexpected personal circumstances / suffer any loss or damage to property or your person.
  14. Should you decide not to take out a suitable travel insurance policy, Budget Walking excepts no responsibility whatsoever for any loss/damage to goods or injury to any person. 
  15. LUGGAGE TRANSFER- Budget Walking will offer to provide for you, luggage transfer services by our sister company – Luggage Transfers Ltd.  – And will quote you for this service within your walking holiday quotation.  You will be under no obligation to accept our luggage transfer service.
  16. Should you accept our offer of luggage transference, you will be bound by the terms and conditions listed clearly within the Luggage Transfers website
  17. SUPPORT SERVICES- We will endeavour to provide support services in the form of our help line, through which we will be delighted to impart advice and assist where possible in the arrangement of basic services in order to optimise your walking holiday.  However, this is a discretionary and in general a free service not forming part of your purchase.  In some circumstances, it may be necessary to pass on charges and on occasion quote you for some assistances given through our help line, however you will be under no obligation whatsoever to accept these services offered.  You will always be told of any charges in advance.
  18. ADVICE/SUPPORT given - You as the customer accept that Budget Walking and any of its subsidiary companies and/or interests are not liable in any way should you decide to act on any advice or support given which results in any accident/injury/loss or any mishap whatsoever.  You understand that we are not able to know the full context in which our advice may be taken, i.e.  the full ability or lack of, of you and your group and also the prevailing terrain and weather conditions at the time at which you may or may not choose to enact our advice.  In short, our advice is given to you so that you can use it as one factor within a number of other factors before you make your decisions.  For that reason, you should take all things into account - not just our advice - before deciding whether something is safe or appropriate for you and/or your group in all the circumstances.  Always remember that our holidays are "self-guided" and thus you and your group are fully responsible for all injuries/loss/mishaps resulting from your decision making at any given time.
  19. LOWEST PRICE PROMISE -  Budget Walking will beat any competitors price by 10% on any walking holiday itinerary that is the same.  Holidays must have the same number of nights, walking days, and similar standard of accommodation and include accommodation, luggage transfers, map(s), guidebook and phone line support.  Holidays must be based on 2 people sharing a double/twin room.
  20. SINGLE WALKER PRICE MATCH PROMISE - Budget walking will match any competitors price on any walking holiday itinerary that is the same.  Holidays must have the same number of nights, walking days, and similar standard of accommodation and include accommodation, luggage transfers, map(s), guidebook and phone line support.
  21. Should you obtain services provided by a 3rd party service provider, which are recommended through or by us, or from within our marketing materials, including our web site, then we accept no liability for those services or any advice provided by those 3rd parties.
