The Lizard to Plymouth a 110 mile section of The South West Coast Path
The South Coast of Cornwall and Devon between Falmouth and the Naval City of Plymouth provide you with a varied walking experience. Whether you are crossing the creeks around the top of the Lizard or the beautiful Roseland Peninsula there is plenty to see and do.
- Lizard to Coverack - 10 miles

Exiting Lizard village past the famous lighthouse and through an AONB this stretch of the coastal path has a couple of strenuous ascents and descents. Cadgwith Cove and Kennack Sands can both be found on this leg. - Coverack to Helford - 13 miles

Passing small quant fishing villages, beaches, heath land and woodland this stretch combines a variety of landscapes all in one section. A ferry crossing may be required dependant on tide for Gillan Creek. - Helford to Falmouth - 10 miles

Beginning the day with a ferry boat across the Helford River. After crossing the river the walk is moderate through fields and cliff top paths. Fantastic views are to be had across the Fal to Zone Point and St Anthony Lighthouse. - Falmouth to Portloe - 14 miles

Crossing the Fal and leaving the harbour of Falmouth behind, you enter another of Cornwall’s AONBs the Roseland Peninsula. An easy walk until you get to Nare Head where you will find a number of descents and ascents. - Portloe to Mevagissey - 12 miles

Leaving Portloe the path is strenuous as you clamber across the rugged path out of the village before easing as you approach Caerhays Castle. Some amazing views from Dodman Point where on a good day you can see Berry Head in Devon. - Mevagissey to Par 11 miles

Leaving the fishing town of Mevagissey the day starts with a strenuous climb. The Path climbs high towards Pentewan and Charlestown offering some stunning scenery. Once you reach the beautiful village of Charlestown the path settles with an easy stroll into Par. - Par to Polperro 14 miles

Following the National Cycle Network path round Par Sands you will be treated to views all the way to Gribben Head. High cliff paths lead you down to the beautiful tidal Fowey Estuary home of many sea birds and the setting for many of Daphne Du Maurier’s books. - Polperro to Portwrinkle - 13 miles

A great variety of high cliff paths, woodland and urban landscape can be found on this section of the South West Coast Path. Amazing views on the approach to Bettern Cliffs one the highest points of the coast path at 462 feet. - Portwrinkle to Plymouth - 13 miles

Some short steep ascents and descents turn into an easy stroll as you leave Cornwall for the southern coast of Devon. Freathy Cliffs and Rame Head offer excellent views across the bay.
